Southwest Florida Fossil Club
Photo Album of Meeting in March 2011
The Southwest Florida Fossil Club is an organization of men, women, and youth who have special interest in Earth History as it is recorded in evidence found in fossils. Fossils are the hardened remains or traces of an animal or plant of a former age. In Florida, animal fossil predominate. We include both vertebrate and invertebrate fossils in our programs, activities, and personal collections. Our Membership comes from many counties in Florida, other states, Canada and Europe, and includes several professional paleontologists, geologists, and Museum Curators. Our Purpose is to promote Education in the Field of Science and to provide a family oriented atmosphere in which to share a common interest in Science.

The Monthly Meetings are highlighted by having professional or highly qualified avocational paleontologists bring us lectures, slide programs, or updates on current research.

Field Trips are held monthly to regional fossiling places.

Events are held for all ages such as our Annual Picnic, Kids Fossil Digs, and our Christmas Party.
